Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Hines

Founder, President & CEO

Educare Resource Center (ERC)

MEET THE FOUNDER

Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Hines is the founder, President, and CEO of Educare Resource Center, Inc. Under her leadership, Educare has been able to provide valuable information and awareness of employment programs, and affordable housing options to the community.

Mrs. Hines attended the Univ. of Maryland, College Park for Human Resource Management and Paralegal Studies, as well as Prince George’s Community College for General Studies. She also spent 20 years in government service. She has worked for the Department of Justice, DEA as a Freedom of Information Specialist (FOIA Unit), as well as the Department of the Navy, Federal Aviation Administration, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Betwen 1991 and 2005 she received numerous awards including the Star Awards, Special Act Awards, and Special Achievement Awards for her outstanding contributions to the FDIC.

In 2003 she established the Hines House Assisted Living Facility which she operated for 8 years. During this period, she saw the need for underserved populations to be provided with better access to human program services and affordable housing options. She realized the economic conditions caused by the recession, and the burden that was being placed on military veterans and families in the areas of housing, employment, skills development, and community familiarization. So she launched the Educare Resource Center to address these challenges.

Since ERC was launched in 2006, she has assisted over 400 individuals and families with housing and resources.
